The Death of Superman - Funeral For A Friend

I got a message from tnr105 on youtube suggesting a the idea for this video. They pointed out some really cool scenes I could use and I was immediately hooked on the idea. At first it was going to be a stand alone video and not an action packed trailer, but the project evolved into an alternate/companion trailer to A World Without Superman. I found some music that reminded me of the first Watchmen trailer, which I tried to based the Death of Superman video that was pulled off of youtube so I thought it would be a good fit. Here's the synoposis:

Since the death of Superman the world has been thrown into turmoil, Oliver has turned to drinking (as well as Perry White) and Lois mourns the man of steel's tombstone. The entire Justice League is in full action, especially Cyborg who wants to keep his promise to Clark. Kara is back at the farm and meets Brainiac who might have a solution to bring back Superman. Lex looks back into his past and realizes who much of friend Clark was to him and is ready to release his latest experiment, Connor Kent. Brainiac makes Bizarro lose his mind as he puts Jonathan into the hospital and attacks Lex. With Supergirl trapped in the phantom zone, Bizarro has made his full transformation into the villain.

What happens in Smallville stays in Smallville.

The Smallville Hangover

I started making this video as soon as I saw the official description. I wanted to do a Hangover style trailer for Smallville for a while. I had the idea of using clips of Jimmy, Oliver, Clark, and Lex going to a party and getting drugged and try to find Jimmy, but because of the lack of clips it was too hard to make a funny video out of a few funny scenes.

Making the video was relatively easy, I started working on the night it aired and uploaded it the next day. I thought the episode was hilarious even though the Hangover homage the blatant.

Lois & Clark 3 - Romantic Comedy Trailer

About a year before this video came out I made a teaser featuring Smallville's Lois & Clark watching Superman Returns. The original idea was similar to the Lois & Clark 2, which was basically a bunch of moments wrapped up like one long trailer. This time I wanted to do something different.

Since Season 9 features Lois and Clark finally getting together I decided to make a separate video in the style of a Rom-Com trailer, which after watching many... many trailers had the same formula. You could put up the video up to other trailers and see the similarities (the music turns when they kiss, ending on a funny scene, ect.)

The other video was scrapped and Lois & Clark 3 became the Rom-Com video I had been working on. One of the things that inspired me to do this video was poster in Crossfire that was a homage to the Pretty Woman poster.

The Death of Superman (Special Edition)

Had to do another Death of Superman video, using footage of "Bride" and other episodes I remade my last trailer with more action and drama! Here is a synopsis to better understand the trailer:

Clark Kent has become the man of steel, Superman and lives the life of a mild mannered reporter. Lex Luthor has been developing his own "bizarro" caped wonder to knock Superman down once and for all. Everyone's plans are ruined when Doomsday arrives. Superman dies, Lex Luthor is injured, but not convinced that he is dead. Neither is the Green Arrow, but he thinks Luthor is involved. Bizarro escapes Lex's lab and begins to remember Clark's memory's and takes his mantle as "mild mannered reporter"... More to come as Season 8 continues and more aspects of the story will show itself in more trailers!

Smallville "False Advertising" and The Return of Lex Luthor

After Smallville was pushed back a week I was furious! It really annoyed me, since I was looking forward for the show returning and also knowing in the back of my head this is the final season and I want to get all the Smallville I can. So instead of breaking things or starting fights with random people I made a video. I took the idea of "False Advertising" and used it to announce fake guest star returns that would be awesome, but would never happen.

Also I wanted to use the kick-ass song Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy for a video!

Now there was a lot of negative reactions when news broke that Michael Rosenbaum wasn't going to return, but I was not angry with him. Many people complained and wanted his head on a platter. I still held hope that some thing would happen before the finale. I don't believe anything until it comes from the actual source. Same thing with those rumors about the new Supeman film, whether its good or bad rumors are rumors until they are confirmed.

On a side note, I am really excited for this new Superman movie and I am totally on board with Henry Cavill as the new Man of Steel. Unlike some fans I would enjoy watching Tom Welling, Brandon Routh or Henry Cavill as Superman.

The video itself was something I have been working on for a while. I had some of Lex's audio in the beginning and the music itself set up. I wanted to use Kanye West's "Power" because it kind of described Lex on different levels. For instance the lyrics, "No one man should have all that power" can describe Lex's situation as the ruthless business man of metropolis or it could be Lex's view on Superman/Clark that no one person should have all those super powers.

Yes that 1:23 video was supposed to have layers...

Any way, I was ecstatic when Michael Rosenbaum announced his return and wanted to make a video that showed it and I hope everyone enjoyed it.

World Without A Superman

Synopsis:

Superman is dead and the world is in mourning. A funeral is held with all his friends and even included the notorious Lex Luthor. Bizarro starts to remember that he is Clark Kent and returns the Daily Planet. Lex Luthor is saved by a mysterious stranger who he believes is Superman, while his father Lionel is hospitalized since being taken over as a vessel for “Jor-el.” “Jor-el” meets Bizarro and promises to reveal his true purpose and destiny. In order to fill the void that Superman left Supergirl and Cyborg step up to protect the world. Lionel is actually Brainiac and is trying to use a misguided Bizarro as his own personal Superman. Lex Luthor figures out where the real Superman is and wants to change his ways and redeem himself by bringing him back. Supergirl and Cyborg try to protect Lex while Brainiac and Bizarro attempt to stop them from bringing back the real man of steel.

Here is the second chapter, I hope everyone likes it. The way things are going I might be looking at this summer for the third and final chapter. It's going to be huge and hopefully bigger than the first two videos for the Return of Superman.

World Without A Superman Teaser

I finally found everything I needed for the second chapter of the Death of Superman trilogy, so I made this quick teaser. The full 3 minute trailer will be up on the January 1st, 2011, and hopefully if everything goes right the final chapter will be due out sometime in the summer. Stay tuned...

Smallville - "It's Superman!"

This video came up while trying to remix two songs. I heard "Gotta Work" by Amerie in a Human Target commercial (Which is a great show, I have the episodes I might do a video) the song samples Sam & Dave's "Hold On I'm Comin'". I always wanted to do a smallville video with Clark saving people to "Hold On I'm Comin" but it never panned out. After my failed attempt of a remix of the two songs I decided to start doing a Smallville video to the instrumental version. It felt very barren and it needed some lyrics or words, so I put in the classic lines from 40s radio and 50s tv show and out came what you see today!

I may look into doing other "music videos" like this with an instrumental version of the background song and sound clips from Smallville.

Smallville "Become Our Hero"

After watching the first two episodes of Season 10 I felt like making a video. So many great things in both of these episodes, Smallville is on the right track for its final season. I wanted to start the video slow using the music from Book of Eli, which is a great movie, and then pump it up with the Superman theme. I don't usually use the Superman theme because youtube takes down videos with it.

If anything happens to the youtube version, another will take it's place here!

Smallville "Destiny Is Here" Promo

I've been busy these last few weeks. I haven't been able to do any new videos so I focused my attention on one Season 10 video. This season looks epic and I can't wait till this Friday.

The music usually come first and after watching the Emmy's and hearing the music from Dragonheart, I knew I had to do something with this very powerful and moving score. So I tried going through everything to find sound clips, but I wanted to go further than my Season 10 is a Go video. I went through mostly all of the Smallville footage and came up with "Destiny Is Here." The show is always talking about it or hinting at Clark's destiny and this final season there is no where left to go but up, up, and away.

Smallville Inception Teaser

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been working on some special projects for some people, and hopefully I could share it with everyone soon.

I thought Inception was an awesome movie. I also found the movie trailer very powerful, so I tried to figure out how to make a Smallville parody. I had two ways I could do this, keep the audio and change the video (like with the Star Trek mash-up) or I could keep the music and try my best to make a Smallville version of the trailer (like the Pineapple Express Mash-up).

I immediately remembered Season 7's Fracture, where Clark goes into Lex's mind and started from there. That with a combination of Kara and Lex's memory talks I had the makings of an Inception mash-up.

It is pretty funny, the name of the treatment that puts Clark into Lex's mind is called "Project Intercept", but I didn't want to call it "Smallville Interception" because someone might think it had to do with Clark's high school football days.

Dawn of Doomsday

Here is the quick synopsis:

A monster was created on Krypton by none other than Zod himself. Superman has discovered the origin of this "Doomsday" monster and his intentions... to kill him. Meanwhile Lex is trying to create a Superman of his own to battle this new enemy. Superman discovers that the monster takes a human form and tries to banish him to the Phantom Zone at the fortress. With the "Bizarro" Superman on the loose and Superman no where to be found, Lex and Tess search the arctic for Superman's fortress until they are intercepted by the Justice League. Superman is forced to battle Doomsday in a fight for his life.

Here is the first chapter in the Death of Superman Saga. The next chapter is 75% done and the third chapter is about 10% done. The next one may be released by the end of the summer but don't get your hopes up. You'll see a teaser a week before it releases. I may do 1 min. character spots on Lex, Clark, and Doomsday since there will be more characters introduced in the A World Without Superman like the big four (Cyborg, Supergirl, Bizarro, and a shapeshifting Brainiac) [in place of Steel, Superboy, Cyborg Superman, and the Eradicator]

Doomsday is Coming!

The first trailer in the trilogy is coming soon to a computer near you.

My original idea was to complete all of the trailers and release them within a month but I feel that more time should pass before releasing another. I want to let the first video get noticed to build up more hype for the next two. I'd also like to have a Death of Superman video up that doesn't get taken down from youtube!

Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption is such an awesome game.

The first video I made about this game came before it was released. When I heard it was pushed back to May I was so mad, but I waited patiently and made this video as the time passed by.

This new video is basically how I feel about the game post-hype and in order to keep it different from the first, I used all of the footage from any other video trailers I could get my hands on (including the short film on FOX). The song was a natural choice; the original theme song to the first game fits well.

The song I used, "Main Theme (Lo Chiamavano King)", is one of the many songs from Red Dead Revolver. In my Becoming the Man of Steel Series I use those songs to give it it's "Bizarro" feel.

More updates to come including BMOS and also The Death of Superman Trilogy. Stay tuned.

Clark Vs. Zod - Salvation Finale

This the big battle between Zod and Clark at the end of "Salvation." I specifically used the music from Star Trek 09' for its theme for the villain, when finding a theme for Zod I immediately went to it. It feels really dark and menacing; perfect for Zod.

I went with the "Sin City" effect, only showing the blue, because it was the main focus of the fight (the only reason Clark wouldn't be throwing Zod into a building) With the addition of the Superman theme (which I have been able to sneak pass youtube) this fight kind of brings me full circle with one of my first videos, Zod vs Clark Finale, so I am glad to have made it.

The quote at the end has something to do with season 10... or at least what is speculated to happen next fall!
Whoever can name who said the quote (without putting it into google) gets a cookie!

Working on some videos and also projects for a couple of other people, I'll explain soon.
